Comparison

Hearing Screening Booths vs. Custom Audiology Rooms

Although a standard audiology room is the preferred environment for comprehensive audiometric evaluations, a hearing screening booth can achieve the acoustic conditions required for reliable hearing screening in accordance with applicable standards. Its compact footprint, plug-and-play installation option, and flexibility make it an efficient solution for high-throughput screening programs and space-constrained medical facilities.

Best for routine screening and selected diagnostic workflows

What is the difference between a hearing screening booth and an audiology room?

A hearing screening booth (or mini sound shelter) is a compact solution for hearing screening applications, while a custom audiology room is designed for comprehensive diagnostic testing. For a detailed comparison, see the comparison section below. LINK

A hearing screening booth is a compact solution designed for routine hearing screening, while a standard audiology booth is a modular solution intended for more comprehensive diagnostic testing. For more information, visit our page about standard audiology booths:

IAC hearing screening booths reduce external noise through a combination of high-performance acoustic construction and carefully sealed components.Key noise-control features include: Sound-insulating wall, ceiling, and floor panels A sealed acoustic door with compression seals A double-glazed observation window Acoustically treated ventilation Sealed cable and audiometer connection points Sound-absorbing interior finishes that reduce reflections inside the boothTogether, these features create a controlled acoustic environment for reliable hearing screening. The achieved noise reduction depends on the booth model, selected configuration, installation conditions, and surrounding noise levels.

The MINI 250 is delivered fully assembled and is designed for quick, plug-and-play installation. The cost depends on the site conditions and access requirements.

Requirements for delivery to the final location:

Step-free access must be available between the unloading area, building entrance, and final installation location. A free parking and unloading area suitable for a truck with a tail lift must be provided. For upper-floor locations, a freight elevator or large passenger elevator with a minimum capacity of 10–12 persons is required. The customer must provide the exact elevator dimensions before delivery. All doors, corridors, and access routes must be sufficiently wide and high. The customer is responsible for verifying all required access dimensions before delivery.
